You’ve put in the time and commitment to achieve a straighter, healthier smile. Now it’s time to protect it. Retainers may be removable, fixed or both.
At EVS Orthodontics, we believe that retainers are a critical part of every treatment plan. After your braces or clear aligner treatment is complete, your teeth are still settling into their new positions. Without a retainer, they may gradually shift back—undoing all the progress you've made.
We offer both removable and fixed retainers and mostly use both. They each have their advantages:
Removable retainers (either made of acrylic and wires or of clear plastic) are easy to take out when eating or brushing, and they're discreet and comfortable for night time wear
Fixed retainers are wires bonded behind the teeth, providing round-the-clock protection without needing to remember to put them in.
The best option for you depends on your unique smile and lifestyle. Most patients benefit from a combination of both. We’ll recommend the best retainer solution based on your needs and provide the guidance to ensure long-term success.
